
The final stage of filming for the international historical film "Molla Nasreddin: Friend of Hard Days" has begun in Kazakhstan. The project brings together filmmakers from six Turkic countries.
Previously, the film crew worked in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Final shooting will take place in the Almaty region, Almaty, and Turkestan, including at the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum.
The project was initiated in 2023 at the 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY in Shusha.
"Molla Nasreddin: Friend of Hard Days" is a full-length feature film created as part of cooperation between Turkic countries. Through the image of a famous folklore hero, the film reveals the shared cultural values, traditions, and worldview of the Turkic peoples. The film is spoken in Kazakh, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, and Uzbek. The director and screenwriter was People's Artist of Azerbaijan Vagif Mustafayev. The lead role of Hodja Nasreddin is played by Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Sagyzbay Karabalin. The film also stars Konysbek Bekaidarov, Ondasyn Beksikbasov, and Akerke Arys.
