The BIRLIK ensemble of the State Academic Concert Organization "Kazakhconcert" named after Roza Baglanova performed at the international exhibition EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
One hundred years ago, Amre Kashaubayev performed for the first time at EXPO 1925 in Paris, his performance captivated the audience and became a landmark moment in the history of Kazakh culture. A century later, his cultural mission was continued by the BIRLIK ensemble, worthily representing Kazakhstan on the international stage.
The ensemble performed at the opening ceremony dedicated to the National Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as at the Gala Concert. As part of a large-scale event that brought together representatives of 158 countries and 9 international organizations, the artists performed on the stage of Ray Garden in Osaka, as well as in the Swissotel Nankai Osaka hall. The concert program included traditional dance numbers such as "Kui Shashu", "Akku", "Salkuren" and other choreographic compositions reflecting the richness of Kazakh national art.
The BIRLIK ensemble is a unique creative team that preserves and popularizes national values in the era of globalization, vividly presenting the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
Let us recall that the BIRLIK ensemble was created on March 1, 2024, for Gratitude Day with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Thus, for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries, a song and dance ensemble has appeared that unites representatives of various ethnic groups. Its unique repertoire includes the musical heritage and art of 130 nations, whose history is inextricably linked with the history of the Kazakh people and the formation of independent Kazakhstan.
