
A creative meeting entitled "Kazakhstan's Publishing Industry: Promoting National Literature on the Global Stage" was held at the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing.
The event was part of the Kazakhstan delegation's participation in the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair, where the Republic of Kazakhstan's national pavilion is located. Its goal is to promote Kazakhstan's literature, book culture, and cultural heritage abroad.
The event was organized by the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing, the Association of Publishers, Printers, and Book Distributors of Kazakhstan, the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the NOMAD Cultural Foundation, with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Kazakhstani and Chinese publishing houses, the library community, literary and cultural organizations, diplomats, scholars, and students.
Participants discussed the development of the publishing industry, the introduction of new technologies, the expansion of translation activities, the promotion of national literature, and the popularization of reading. The Chinese side expressed interest in collaborating on the mutual translation and publication of books, as well as musical works from the two countries.
The guests were presented with the "Anthology of Kazakh Poetry," works by contemporary authors, publications about Kazakhstan and its cultural heritage, educational literature, and books about prominent Chinese figures translated into Kazakh.
