From October 8 to 10, 2025, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republican Conducting Competition will be held at the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic Hall, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Kazakhstan and the USSR, laureate of the State Prize, People's Hero, outstanding kyushi, composer and conductor Nurgisa Tlendiev.

The purpose of the competition is to preserve and popularize the traditions of the Kazakhstan conducting school, develop the professional skills of young musicians, strengthen creative cooperation, as well as identify and support talented conductors.

The competition is aimed at developing the national musical culture and enhancing the cultural image of Kazakhstan in the international arena. Young performers and students of higher educational institutions in the field of musical art aged 18 to 35 are invited to participate.

The competition consists of two rounds. Participants will perform musical works accompanied by the Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Orchestra "Otyrar Sazy" named after Nurgisa Tlendiev. The performances of the contestants will be evaluated by a competent jury, which will include leading specialists in the field of conducting and musical art.

On October 10, 2025, the Zhambyl Philharmonic Hall will host the solemn award ceremony for the winners and a gala concert with the participation of the best contestants.
