The State Academic Dance Theatre was named after Bulat Ayukhanov.

The State Academic Dance Theater of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be named after its founder, the outstanding choreographer Bulat Ayukhanov. This decision was made in fulfillment of the instructions of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Bulat Ayukhanov's name is inextricably linked with the development of chamber ballet in Kazakhstan. In 1967, he founded the "Young Ballet of Alma-Ata," which became the first company of its kind in the country and earned recognition far beyond its borders. The theater performed in the republics of the Soviet Union, Europe, and Scandinavia.
For decades, the company developed the artistic traditions established by the master. Bulat Ayukhanov's productions have become part of the golden age of national choreography, and the school he founded has trained several generations of artists.
The naming of the theater after Bulat Ayukhanov takes on special symbolic significance in the year of the opening of its 60th theatrical season. In anticipation of its 60th anniversary, which the company will celebrate in 2027, the theater continues to preserve and develop the creative legacy of its founder, combining the best traditions of the Russian ballet school with the development of classical, national, neoclassical, and contemporary choreography.
