Zhetisu's creative potential: 16 million tenge worth of products sold in two days

As part of the "Creative Aimaq" project, the Zhetisu Creative Industries Fair showcased the harmonious blend of national heritage and contemporary creativity, presenting the distinctive ideas and original works of regional creatives to a wide audience. Over the course of two days, the fair was attended by 5,000 people, and 30 creatives from Zhetisu presented their work, products, and projects.
The creative world of Zhetisu was revealed in all its diversity. Traditional examples of national crafts, contemporary design solutions, works by artists, gastronomic products, and technological projects were presented in a single space. Each product exuded mastery and research, and each project demonstrated a desire to preserve the region's identity while simultaneously following new trends.
The results of the fair were also reflected in specific economic indicators. Over the two days, the volume of direct sales by creatives reached 16 million tenge. In particular, paintings by Zhetisu artists were sold for 9 million 975 thousand tenge, while sales of handcrafted items exceeded 3 million tenge.
Moreover, the fair's results were not limited to direct sales. A contract worth 40 million tenge was signed with designer Zere Yesenbay for the design and production of stage costumes. Thus, taking into account direct sales and the planned contract, the total economic result of Zhetisu artists amounted to 56 million tenge.
Cultural events complemented the fair's substantive program. A performance by the M. Tulebayev Folk Instrument Orchestra filled the fair space with the sounds of national music. As a result, the marketplace simultaneously became a space for engaging with art, where the commercial component organically complemented the cultural program.
The results of Zhetisu artists demonstrate that traditional art is gaining new opportunities for development and entering the modern market. Today, crafts passed down from generation to generation can take on new forms, meet current demand, and become sought-after products that open the door to new partnerships and opportunities.
"Creative Aimaq" not only unites the creative potential of regions but also creates conditions for rethinking national values in a modern context, helping creators translate their creative work into tangible economic results. The 56 million tenge total economic impact of Zhetisu is clear evidence of how creativity continues to thrive in new opportunities and the modern economy.
