The first open mic event as part of the IMUSICU project took place at the Qazaq Creative Hub in Astana. The project, which had previously been successfully held in Almaty, was now presented to residents and visitors of the capital for the first time. The musical evening, organized at the initiative of Kazakh jazz singer Nazia with the support of Qazaq Creative, brought together everyone who dreams of performing in front of an audience on one stage.
During the evening, participants performed their favorite songs to live accompaniment or a backing track, showcasing their creative abilities. IMUSICU is an open platform that helps young performers gain stage experience, establish themselves, and find a new audience.
According to Nazia, the project's founder, the idea for IMUSICU arose from her desire not only to perform and teach, but also to implement social initiatives. She noted that the opportunity to contribute to society while simultaneously developing her organizational skills is an important motivator for her. The organizers were extremely impressed with IMUSICU's first evening in Astana. According to Naziya, the capital's residents warmly welcomed the new project, demonstrating their openness to new creative initiatives, talent, and high performing potential. She emphasized that this evening was special for her and will remain in her memory for a long time.
The project is not limited to one musical genre. Naziya also noted that Kazakh folk music and jazz are in many ways similar in nature. She believes they are united by improvisation and a spirit of creative freedom. Groups such as Satzhan Project, Saz and Soul, JCS, and Magic of Nomads, as well as her own work, have already proven that Kazakh music can be successfully expressed through jazz arrangements. At the same time, IMUSICU is open to performers of all musical genres. Sincerity and freedom of creative expression remain the project's core values.
The organizers emphasize that IMUSICU does not position itself as a music label or agency. First and foremost, it is a creative platform where young performers can hone their professional skills, gain stage experience, find like-minded people, and develop new creative projects.
