Omran Sheikhmus' solo exhibition "Colors of Nauryz" opened in Almaty.

Omran Sheikhmous' solo exhibition, "Colors of Nauryz," opened in the Central Exhibition Hall of the Abylkhan Kasteyev National Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition features over 60 of the artist's paintings.
Omran Sheikhmous was born in 1967 in the Syrian city of Amuda. Educated in Damascus, he later continued his education in Almaty, where he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in 1993 with a degree in petroleum engineering. Despite his professional path in the technical field, the artist remained faithful to his creative work and developed his own recognizable style.
His works combine elements of abstract expressionism and figurative painting. He actively uses impasto technique, creating expressive textures and rich emotional spaces. A significant portion of the works explore themes of spiritual quest, inner harmony, and philosophical understanding of the world.
A special place in the exhibition is occupied by a series of works inspired by the Sufi tradition. Through images of sages and enigmatic female figures, the artist explores themes of light, contemplation, and understanding of the inner world.
Omran Sheikhmous's work is distinguished by contemporary artistic thinking, emotional depth, and unique sculptural solutions.
The exhibition will run until March 29, 2026.
