Aida Balayeva toured the new "Altyn Orda" hall at the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition is dedicated to one of the key historical periods in the development of Kazakh statehood.
During the tour, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the importance of a thorough and scientifically verified approach to developing museum exhibits and emphasized the special significance of popularizing the legacy of the Altyn Orda for future generations.
The main goal of the hall is to introduce visitors to the history and culture of the Altyn Orda of the 13th and 14th centuries, revealing its role as one of the origins of Kazakh statehood and strengthening public historical awareness.
The exhibition features approximately 200 artifacts from the museum's collection. The urban culture section features household items and jewelry, as well as fragments of silk fabrics from the ceremonial attire of the highest nomadic nobility of the Chagatai dynasty, found near the village of Shengeldy in the Almaty region. The military art section presents weaponry. The section on the state structure of that time reveals the Altyn Orda's system of governance, the genealogy of its rulers, and its historical continuity with the Kazakh Khanate.
The exhibition utilizes cartographic materials, photographs, videos, and audio content, as well as modern museum technologies, providing a visual and accessible presentation of historical material. The total area of the Altyn Orda exhibition hall is 370 square meters.
The first visitors to the hall will be Almaty schoolchildren, who will have the opportunity not only to enjoy the museum's spiritual atmosphere but also to conduct thematic activities there.
