In October, Astana will bring together fashion industry representatives from 40 countries. The capital will host the international World Designers Fashion Week Astana 2026, which will serve as a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experiences, and the promotion of Kazakhstani design internationally.
In preparation for the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with Gaukhar Zhenisbek, the initiator and creative director of World Designers Fashion Week Astana 2026.
The Fashion Week program will include a special educational program for domestic designers. Two master classes are planned, each for approximately 100 participants.
One of the key areas will be the processing and tanning of leather for the creation of designer bags and accessories. Special emphasis will be placed on traditional crafts and their reinterpretation through modern tools and the language of the fashion industry.
This combination of heritage and contemporary design opens up new opportunities for creating recognizable Kazakhstani fashion products and their subsequent promotion beyond the country's borders. 65 designers from 40 countries are expected to participate. This international platform will allow Kazakhstani industry representatives to expand their professional networks, exchange experiences with international colleagues, and gain new opportunities to enter international markets.
The project will provide new impetus for the development of Kazakhstan's fashion industry, opening up opportunities for domestic designers to collaborate internationally, engage in creative exchange, and gain access to new professional platforms.
