Kazakhstan Days of Culture are taking place in Armenia - the first large-scale cultural event at such a high level, made possible thanks to the agreements reached by the Heads of State during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Yerevan. As part of this event, a meeting was held between the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan.
The parties discussed the prospects for cultural cooperation and emphasized the importance of restoring and strengthening humanitarian ties. Special attention was paid to the need to expand bilateral projects in the field of literature, music, cinema and information exchange.
"I think that today's meeting will give impetus to cooperation in all areas of culture. This is not only cinema, but also library science, museum science, interaction of our concert organizations. We need to think about the mechanism for joint film production: animated, documentary. To think about systematically translating the works of our literary figures," said Aida Balayeva.
Specific proposals were voiced: organizing mutual tour tours of artists, holding joint concerts with the participation of young performers, developing cooperation between news agencies and exchanging media content, including films, TV series and documentary projects. It was noted that such an exchange has not only cultural, but also economic significance.
"We have a huge potential for joint cooperation both in terms of joint film production and in terms of tours of our theaters and joint concerts. I know that today there has already been a screening of films and there was a very warm reception of Kazakh works from our viewers. And I am sure that all the planned events will be held at a high level. These events will be another step in strengthening relations between our countries," said Zhanna Andreasyan.
The ministers supported the idea of creating a joint action plan, which will be worked out by specialized committees and approved at the interstate level. This approach is already being successfully implemented in Kazakhstan's cooperation with other countries and can become an effective tool in the development of Kazakh-Armenian cultural ties.
In the field of literature, an agreement was reached on compiling a list of works for translation into Kazakh and Armenian with the involvement of publishing houses for further promotion of books on national markets. The Armenian side also invited Kazakh authors to participate in the Yerevan Book Festival.
At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Khabar Agency JSC and the Public Television Company of Armenia CJSC. The parties expressed their readiness for systematic, meaningful and open work aimed at strengthening cultural and informational dialogue between Kazakhstan and Armenia.
It should be noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Armenia, this is the first official and such a large-scale cultural event - the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan are being held in Armenia for the first time at a high state level. The culmination of the events will be a Gala concert, which will be held on April 19 in the Aram Khachaturian concert hall.
