Center for Supporting Women in Culture Opens in Astana

The first event of the Center was an exhibition by artist Asemgul Zhanakhmetova called "A Woman's World View." In her work, the artist combines elements of Kazakh traditional culture and contemporary painting.

The event brought together women from creative professions – writers, artists, musicians, actresses – and representatives of business, Parliament, embassies, republican and international organizations.

British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kathy Leach visited the exhibition in support of women working in culture and the arts. She learned about the main activities of the Art Qalqa center, showed interest in the artist's work and shared her vision for the development of women's creative projects.

Employees of the diplomatic missions of Turkey and the United States in Kazakhstan also took part in the event. During a meeting with representatives of the Turkish Embassy, upcoming art events and prospects for strengthening cooperation in the field of culture and art were discussed.

The main goal of the creative evening was to create a networking platform for exchanging creative ideas and discussing opportunities for their implementation.

The mission of the AQ Center is to help create an inclusive, open and prosperous society by promoting the creative projects of women at the national and international levels. The Center is already in negotiations with the organizers of international exhibitions, art festivals and educational programs from Italy, Turkey and other countries.

The creation of the Center is an initiative of the women themselves, working in various fields of the creative industry in Kazakhstan. Their activities are aimed at developing women's leadership, supporting talents, improving professional skills and forming a network of active and creative women.
