In the first half of 2026, theaters in Kazakhstan staged 3948 performances for child audiences. These were attended by 559,885 young spectators.

The children's repertoire is developed by theaters for children and youth, puppet theaters, and youth theaters. Productions based on classical and modern works, fairy tales, as well as educational and enlightening performances were presented on the stages.

Theaters for children and youth hold a special place in this area. They work not only with younger audiences but also with teenagers, raising themes of growing up, friendship, responsibility, choice, and respect for cultural heritage.

The children's segment has also gained recognition on the international stage. The Gabit Musrepov Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth won the Grand Prix of the International Theater Festival "ART-ORDO" in Bishkek with its performance "Ұлпан". The production also received awards in the nominations "Best Scenographer", "Best Actor", and "Best Supporting Actor".
