The Boris Eifman Theatre presented two performances in Astana.

The Boris Eifman St. Petersburg Academic Ballet Theatre began its tour at the Astana Opera stage. Two iconic performances by the master are presented to the capital's audience: the updated version of the legendary "Red Giselle" and the philosophical production "Beyond Sin," based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel "The Brothers Karamazov."

"Red Giselle" became one of the central productions of the tour. The performance is dedicated to the outstanding ballerina Olga Spessivtseva, whose fate became a symbol of the tragic clash between great talent and a ruthless era. Revolution, emigration, personal upheavals, and mental breakdown are revealed in the ballet as a dramatic story about the fragility of the human personality. In the new version of the production, Boris Eifman reinterpreted the choreographic score and updated the artistic design of the performance.

The ballet "Beyond Sin" holds a special place – an original plastic interpretation of Dostoevsky's great novel. The production raises fundamental questions of faith and unbelief, moral fall, inner struggle, and spiritual transformation. Through dance, the choreographer offers the audience a reflection on the duality of human nature and the eternal confrontation between good and evil.

For the Kazakh audience, Boris Eifman's work is no stranger. Previously, his productions "Eugene Onegin," "Anna Karenina," and "The Pygmalion Effect" were successfully presented at the Astana Opera stage, and the ballet "Rodin" became part of the theatre's repertoire.
