A solo exhibition by artist Akylbek Tampiev, "In the Footsteps of Ancestors," has opened at the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition features approximately 55 works in which the artist addresses themes of historical memory, national traditions, and the spiritual connection between generations. Through images of the Kazakh steppe, people, traditional ways of life, and family values, the artist depicts the legacy of his ancestors as a source of inner strength and national identity.
Akylbek Tampiev is a contemporary Kazakhstani artist and a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Designers' Center of Kazakhstan, the National Academy of Design, and the Tumar-Art Association of Artists and Teachers. He actively participates in international, national, and city exhibitions, and combines his creative work with teaching.
The artist's artistic language is based on a combination of academic painting and plein-air perception of nature. Landscapes, genre compositions, still lifes, and subjects related to Kazakh ethnography occupy a prominent place in his works. One of the exhibition's key images is the steppe horseman—a symbol of freedom, fortitude, and the inseparable connection between man and nature. At the same time, the artist also explores intimate subjects that reveal the beauty of everyday life, maternal care, the home, and the continuity of generations.
The exhibition "In the Footsteps of Ancestors" demonstrates how national traditions, nature, and family memory can be understood through the language of contemporary painting. The exhibition will run until September 1.
