The Astana Opera Theatre hosted a performance of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "La Traviata" featuring a star-studded cast of performers, which gathered a full house. A special token of appreciation for the artists was a basket of flowers from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, bestowed upon the participants of the show.
The main roles that evening were performed by renowned masters of the opera stage. Soprano Maria Mudryak appeared as Violetta Valéry, for whom this performance was particularly symbolic: exactly ten years ago, she debuted in this role on the Astana Opera stage. During this time, the role of Violetta has taken a special place in her creative biography, gaining a new emotional and dramatic interpretation.
The role of Alfredo Germont was performed for the first time by Spanish tenor Joel Prieto. His participation became one of the main events of the evening. For the artist, this was not only his debut in the role but also his first trip to Kazakhstan. Joel Prieto is known for performing on major world stages, including Covent Garden, La Scala, the Paris National Opera, and the Salzburg Festival.
The image of Giorgio Germont was embodied by Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Talgat Mussabayev, giving the production special dramatic power and stage nobility. Italian maestro Giuseppe Acquaviva conducted. Along with the soloists, the artists of the choir, mime, and the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra took to the stage.
