An archival and illustrative exhibition, "Vasily Toskin: City of Dreams and Creation," dedicated to the creative legacy of Honorary Architect of Kazakhstan Vasily Toskin, has opened at the Presidential Center of the Presidential Property Management Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition features approximately 200 materials from the architect's personal collection—original sketches, drawings, photographs, design documentation, and historical documents. They reflect the main stages of the capital's development, from Tselinograd and Akmola to modern Astana.
Vasily Toskin served as chief architect of Tselinograd and the Akmola region over the years, and worked in the field of architecture and urban development in Astana. He also served on the State Commission for the Relocation of the Capital to Akmola, participating in the development of the master plan, the reconstruction of the historic center, and the formation of the city's new administrative core. The architect is the designer and co-author of several famous buildings in the capital, including the Palace of Pioneers, the Tourist Hotel, the Zhastar Palace, and the Astana Concert Hall. His projects have repeatedly received recognition at national architectural competitions.
The exhibition introduces visitors to the history of Astana's urban development and the contribution of architects to shaping the capital's modern appearance.
The exhibition will be open until mid-September.
