About Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is the heart of Eurasia, where Eastern traditions intertwine with Western modernization. Vast expanses, like an endless canvas of nomadic history, stretch from Altai to the Caspian Sea. With an area of 2.72 million km², Kazakhstan ranks 9th in the world by territory. Here the sky seems closer, and the earth holds ancient legends about batyrs, poets and nomadic sages.

A state created by a great time

Kazakhstan is a country that was born from a nomadic philosophy of freedom, but managed to create a solid foundation for a modern state. Over three decades of independence, Kazakhstan has become the political and economic leader of Central Asia. Today, its capital, Astana, is a city of the future, embodying the desire for progress and ambitions of a multinational people. As of April 1, 2025, the population of Kazakhstan was about 20.3 million people, and the urbanization level reached 63%.

The People: The Soul and Heart of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstanis are people with an open heart, living by the principle of "qonaqzhaylyq" (hospitality). Here everyone will find warmth, even in the frosts of the northern steppe. More than 130 nationalities live in the country, with Kazakhs making up about 71.3% of the population, Russians - 14.6%, and the remaining 14.1% are representatives of various ethnic groups: Uzbeks, Uighurs, Tatars, Ukrainians, Germans and others. Kazakh is the official language, but Russian continues to play an important role as a language of interethnic communication.

Culture: The Legacy of Nomads and the Inspiration of the Future

If Kazakhstan were a melody, it would sound like the dombra, echoing the endless steppes. The traditions of aitys (poetry competitions) live side by side with contemporary art, and the film industry of Kazakhstan is already making a name for itself on the global level.

Economy: A Look Ahead

Kazakhstan is a country not only of oil and metals, but also of innovation. It ranks 12th in the world in oil reserves and 1st in uranium production (43% of the world market). The development of IT, "green" technologies and science is not a dream, but a reality. The Digital Kazakhstan program is paving the way to a high-tech future, and the country's industrial zones are already attracting global investors.

Kazakhstan on the world stage

Thanks to a wise multi-vector policy, Kazakhstan has become mediated international negotiations, hosted summits of world leaders, and even became the first Central Asian state to chair the OSCE. In 2017, the country successfully hosted the international exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, dedicated to the theme "Future Energy". Kazakhstan actively participates in the UN, SCO, OIC, EAEU and other international organizations.

Kazakhstan Today: Energy, Ambitions, Future

Kazakhstan is not just a territory on the map. It is the pulsating rhythm of the great steppe, where the past meets the future. Here they build spaceports, nurture talents, create art and move forward without forgetting their history. Kazakhstan is among the top 50 most competitive economies in the world, and its youth occupy leading positions in international Olympiads and scientific competitions.
