Kazakhstani and Turkish designers presented their collections at AFWEU Fashion Week Astana

The show took place in Astana and became a vivid manifestation of the synthesis of cultures, the interaction of various styles and trends. With their creativity, the masters demonstrated that fashion is not just a certain color or style of clothing, but a real art, thanks to which everyone can find their own image that reflects their inner world.

“Kazakhstani designers are very fond of ethnic style and handmade work, they like to weave traditional motifs into modern clothes, because there is a story behind it. And in Turkey, very little ethnic clothing remains. We are focused on modern style, European trends have a great influence. I am familiar with many Kazakhstani designers who work specifically in ethnic style. They sew wedding dresses to order in the form of national costumes. I really like this and I closely follow the work of my Kazakhstani colleagues,” said the organizer of the show, author of AFWEU Fashion Week Astana, Aydyn Achyk.

Colorful national costumes were brought by designer from Uralsk, Zhamilya Utepkalieva. According to her, every year in Kazakhstan there is a growing demand for clothing in ethnic style. Collections by the founder of Brand by Zhamilya have already been seen in Istanbul, Dubai, Cappadocia and Baku.

“All products in our collection are handmade. It takes about 10 days to create one chapana. We use only natural fabrics, we select them in Atyrau and Almaty. Orders come from everywhere: from Kazakhstani stars, musicians, and even during foreign shows,” said the founder Zhamilya Utepkalieva.

The collection called "Guni Nomad - Daughter of a Nomad" was presented at the show in Astana by the founder and designer of Guni Brand Gulnur Tazhegenova.

“We wanted to combine modernity with our national flavor so that women could wear things without compromising their comfort and at the same time emphasize their belonging to a people with a rich history. We purchase materials abroad. The collection was inspired by brave Kazakh girls - daughters of nomads,” Gulnur Tazhegenova emphasized.

Azamat Sain, Aikerim Shahman, representatives of Siluet Fashion and other designers took part in the event. Gozde Esbilir from Cappadocia also brought her collection.

“I am very happy to be here in Astana. It is a great joy to share my work, to see how our cultures come closer. I thank Aydyn Achyk and all the Kazakhstani viewers for the invitation,” Gozde Esbilir shared her emotions.

The youngest designer at AFWEU Fashion Week Astana was 8-year-old Inzhu Muratbekova. The founder of the Inju Fashion brand not only prepared a collection, but also took to the catwalk as a model.

“I started promoting my brand at the age of five. We create beautiful and at the same time comfortable clothes. I have participated in shows both in Kazakhstan and abroad. I am inspired by beautiful things,” said Inzhu Muratbekova.

The AFWEU Fashion Week Astana show demonstrated that the fashion world has no boundaries: neither spatial nor age. Both adults and children can look stylish and express their ideas. Fashion brings people together and fuels cultural interest in each other.
